Third period notes
Going to overtime.
Bogo scores a shorty, but they wave it off with a penalty on him to get to it. Unreal.
Saints take a penalty with 1:15 to play — it's Carey to the box.
Moss makes an incredible glove save late in the third to keep it tied.
Drewiske gets his second
SLU goes on the PP.
Goal QUI Connor Jones scores.
Now it's a 5-on-3 with Dewey to the box.
Mobley to the box for cross checking.
Moss with a great save to start off the third period.
Second period impressions:
Told you the Saints would finally score. They are dominating the shots this game. Hartzell is playing very well, aside from his one miscue.
The Saints are playing with a chip right now and should be an exciting final period.
Second period notes
Vangog crushes the pipe, but it doesn't go.
Saints kill the penalty.
And now SLU takes a penalty — Raley for interference.
Qpac kills the penalty. Saints didn't have too many good looks.
SLU goes on the PP.
Saints penalty kill is excellent tonight.
Torney picks up a hooking penalty.
Goal SLU Keller caught hartzell coming out of the net, misplaying the puck and passed to Drewiske for the easy score.
Pretty good, clean game so far, unlike last night.
Hartzell makes a great save with two Saints in his face.
Marsh moved back down to the bench. Can't stay away.
First period impressions:
St. Lawrence played well, I thought, but just couldn't find the net. Robby Moss had some great saves on the power play and toward the end of the period.
The Saints will eventually score, but they can't keep fighting from behind every game and expect to win.
I think the energy has been excellent again tonight and the Saints are definitely getting the put in the zone and creating some excellent scoring opportunities. It's only a matter of time before they finally put one home.
First period notes:
More great chances, but Quinnipiac's Eric Hartzell is playing extremely well in net.
Carey lays a good hit — yes, Carey.
Moss with some great saves as the penalty expires.
Dewey picks up a penalty.
Saints are hanging tough but just haven't been able to find the net.
Plenty of good efforts but no score on the PP for SLU.
SLU on the PP.
Scott Zurevinski tips a shot in to make it 1-0 just 39 seconds in.
SLU head coach Joe Marsh is watching the game from the press box tonight. He is still feeling ill and apparently being behind the bench last night didn't help his recovery. Bob Prier managing the ice.
St. Lawrence goalie Matt Weninger has the flu and will sit out today's game, I'm told. I'm not sure if he felt sick yesterday and didn't tell anyone or thought he was good to go, but I'll ask after the game.
