Former major league baseball pitcher Tommy John was in Watertown Thursday to speak at a fundraiser sponsored by the Watertown Wizards for area Babe Ruth Baseball leagues.
John, who won 288 games over 26 seasons, is mostly known for his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees and also for the famous arm surgery he underwent in 1974 that bears his name.
Before speaking to area fans, John spent about 12 minutes talking with the Watertown Daily Times about a variety of subjects, including Jay Cutler, ironing and pitch counts.
